Loving husband, father and grandfather David Earl Dunn passed away peacefully on Nov. 6, 2016. Born Oct. 19, 1938, in The Dalles, Ore., David grew up in Wasco, Ore., and later moved to San Francisco, Calif., where he met and married his wife of 58 years.
David worked in construction all his life, running heavy equipment and started his own excavating company after moving to Redmond, Ore., in 1969. He brought his family to Alaska in 1981, where he continued his trade for 20 years working as a foreman on many highway and public works projects in Anchorage and surrounding areas.
An avid outdoorsman, David was a competitive trap shooter in Oregon and loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was also a sports enthusiast, with football and golf among his favorite pastimes.
David is survived by his wife Barbara Dunn; children, Diana Dunn, Karen McLeod (Scott) and Linda Heater (John); grandchildren, Ben Heafer, Conner McLeod and Avalon McLeod; brother, Col. James Douglas "Doug" Dunn USAF retired (Betty); and many nephews and nieces.
He will be missed and his memory will live on forever in our hearts.
