Deloris Mae Dannehy passed away, at the age of 91, on Aug. 28, 2017, at Alaska Regional Hospital from complications from dementia. Her love and friendship will be missed by all those who knew her. Her zest for life touched us all.
Deloris came to Alaska, in 1957, with her husband, Jack, who was one of the original homesteaders in Anchorage in 1949. It was here in Alaska where they remained, living a wonderful life together and fulfilling their dreams. They both loved Alaska and the many wonderful people that filled their lives.
Deloris is survived by her son, Barry; her son, Rodger and his wife Jan; her sister, Betty; grandchildren, Christy, Michelle and Brandon; and nephew, Gary and his wife Beth.
To all those that shared in her life: the homestead days, the Homer days, the get-togethers, the polka dances, the humor, her wonderful flowers, her loving friendship and the great times together, please send out a thank you prayer to her. The family wishes to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses at Alaska Regional Hospital and the loving staff at the assisted living home Serenity Circle for providing such a wonderful care in her last days.
Deloris was one of a kind, and we thank her for being in our lives. May her soul and spirit rest in peace.
