Elisabeth "Ann" Fall passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at the age of 84. She lived every moment to the fullest with a steadfast faith and conviction in God.
Ann was born on Sept. 8, 1933, in Seattle, Wash. She grew up in Indiana and attended Mishawaka High School. She graduated from Illinois-Wesleyan with a major in education. In 1958, as a single woman with two invitations of employment, by the luck of the draw she moved to Sitka, Alaska for a third grade teaching position, sight unseen. Soon after, she met Don. They married three months later. She finished the school year in Sitka then she and Don moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where they started their family.
Ann was an avid reader who also enjoyed, the outdoors, animals and bowling. She loved Alaska. She knew every tree and berry covered mound of the property surrounding her home of 50 years. She reveled in the changes of plants and animals throughout the seasons. Ann will be fondly remembered by many for her work at the O'Malley School election polls, her wonderfully homemade baked goods and her giftedness in embroidery. She enthusiastically supported children's literacy and Anchorage area food pantries. Her quick punny sense of humor will be missed.
Ann is survived by her husband, Donald, of 58 years; children, Sharon Holland (Ky) and Chris (Denise); four grandchildren, Grant, Heather, Ashley and Russel; and one great-grandson, Miles. She is preceded in death by her beloved pets: Song, Annie, Eeyore, Babe, Sassy, Toto, Samantha and Gwendolyn.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Ann's birthday, Sept. 8, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Christ Church Episcopal, 5101 O'Malley Road in Anchorage. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the .
