Emil Timothy Hampton Jr., 61, of Wasilla, Alaska, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017.
Emil was born in 1956, in Inglewood, Calif., traveled throughout the world and later attended Notre Dame International School in Rome, Italy, and Marymount International School of Rome, College Du Leman in Versoix, Switzerland, and he studied engineering at Northrup Institute of Technology.
In his early career he worked for Boeing and worked in Aircraft Crash Recovery. Emil has spent 40 years in the plumbing industry and the last 20 years with Ferguson Plumbing as an Outside Salesman. Ferguson was his second family, where he was passionate about plumbing and considered the local Plumbing Geek, making lifelong friends with his co-workers and customers who he truly held dear to his heart.
There wasn't anything that Emil could not fix. Emil was generous with his time to lend a helping hand and spent his free time working on cars, motorcycles and snow machines. He loved camping and building bonfires with friends and family. He enjoyed riding his Harley with his brother-in-law, David Barnum, or cruising with the top down in his Mustang. Emil had an extensive music collection and played a sweet Stairway to Heaven on his guitar.
Emil always put family first and was a loving son, father, brother and friend. He always had a positive outlook and infectious sense of humor.
Emil is survived by his father, Emil Hampton Sr.; sisters, Susan Barnum of Alaska, Stephanie Spraggon of Washington, and Gabrielle Llacuna of Washington; daughter, Anna Lee Hampton of Alaska; son, Emil Hampton III of Alaska; Ashley Werner of Alaska; Gavin Rutherford; Jasper Family; and grandchildren, Aurora, Amelia, Emil IV, Rosco, Keirra, Jaxon and Bailey.
Please join Emil's Celebration of Life at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at the Grandview Inn and Suites, 2900 East Parks Highway in Wasilla.
