Emily Louise Stein Adams Rodland (Kataksinna), 76, of Kenai, Alaska, passed away on July 24, 2015, at Central Peninsula Hospital. Emily was born to John Sr. and Hannah Mae (Glover) Stein on June 23, 1939, in Kotzebue and later graduated from high school in Fairbanks, Alaska. She worked as a cook, laundromat attendant, housekeeper, in a cannery and as a home maker for her family. She volunteered with the Civil Air Patrol and enjoyed God, church, studying her bible, reading, sewing, embroidery and crocheting, fishing, camping, berry picking, plants, cooking and her family. Her family said, "She loved God, country, family and friends. She is missed by us all." She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hannah; foster mother, Vera Ashelman; son, Hans Rodland; sisters, Helen Hartz, Bergliot Oysad and Olivia Osland; brothers, Frank Stein, Calvin Stein, John Stein Jr., David Stein, Billy Stein, Dane Stein and Jakob Rodland; and nephew, James Lucas. Emily is survived by her loving husband, Johannes Rodland; daughters, Marlene Marie Adams and Hannah Mae Rodland of Soldotna, Alaska; son, John Eric Rodland of Palmer, Alaska; grandchildren, Sean Rodland, Ryanne Rodland, Autumn Krier and Weston Rodland; sisters, Effie Nelson, Ida Sherbahn, Louise Brown, Rachel Nelson, Kathy Elam, Mary Lie, Lucy Henry, Rosaline Shield, Elizabeth Stein, Ardyth Fritts and Ardelle Ashelman; brothers, Chris Stein, Steven Stein and Ardean Ashelman; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015, from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., at the Peninsula Memorial Chapel, 5839 Kenai Spur Highway. Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at United Pentecostal Church, 43683 Kenai Spur Hwy. in Kenai, with Brother Stuart Churchill officiating.
