Ena Minaei, age 86, died peacefully after a long illness on July 10, 2017, at Providence Extended Care.
Ena was born on May 30, 1931, in Iran. He became a successful pharmacist and businessman and loved to help others. He moved to his new home country - Anchorage, Alaska - in July 1989, to help raise his beautiful granddaughter, Ashley. He came to love and cherish Alaska, and worked in the health care industry until he retired. Ena loved supporting women's rights and women's issues and never missed an opportunity to vote on state and local community concerns.
Ena is survived by his wife, Parvin Afshar; sons, Ali and Reza; daughters, Minoo and Mojgan; niece, Fati; son-in-law, Earl Krygier; daughter-in-law, Lori Minaei; granddaughter, Ashley Minaei, her husband, Dan Fairchild; great-grandson, Logan; and many relatives spread across the world.
Ena greatly appreciated the many loving friends who visited him during his extended illness; and the wonderful caring staff at Providence Extended Care.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017, from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the family home. Flowers and cards are nice, but temporary. In lieu of cards or flowers, please consider making a donation to Anchorage Planned Parenthood, 4001 Lake Otis Pkwy, Anchorage, AK 99508; a group and idea that Ena truly embraced.
Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
