Long time Palmer, Alaska, resident Enola "Lalle" Contini (Scheibl) passed away on Oct. 30, 2017, with her family surrounding her.
A service will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 432 East Fireweed Avenue in Palmer, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017. Reception to follow at the church.
Lalle was born March on 29, 1939, to colonists Gustave and Althea Scheibl at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Palmer. She graduated from Palmer High School in 1957. Lalle was Miss Matanuska State Fair at the Alaska State Fair in 1957. She married her sweetheart, Daniel M. Contini, on June 19, 1960. They made their home on Lazy Mountain and raised six children.
Lalle's favorite job was her years at the Palmer Public Health Center. She loved helping people in trouble and with their needs. She had the biggest heart and thought of others before herself. Her door was always open with a cookie jar and candy drawer full.
After her retirement she loved planting flowers every summer, watching the mountain and the birds feeding out of her big picture windows. She was an avid reader. She loved both her cats.
Lalle leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Daniel M. Contini; daughters, Diane Hall, Danette and John Schloeder, Debbie and Tim Braun and Denise Contini; sons, David Contini and Daniel W. Contini; grandchildren, Katie Becker, Amy Contini, Hunter Stanfield, Cooper Braun, McKinley Braun, Kyle Hall, Gavin Hall and Makayla Hall; great-grandchildren, Emma and Eric Becker; sister, Patty Whitt; brother, Frank Scheibl; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Evelyn, Annabelle, Allan and George; and her best friend, Brenda Lewis.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Lalle's name to the Children's Hospital at Providence Family Support or Mat-Su Animal Shelter.
