Erin Kathleen Bailey, 36, died at home on Nov. 10, 2017, in the company of her devoted terrier, Wilson, and her beloved pink stuffed bunny, Whisper.
Erin came into the world on Oct. 7, 1981, the daughter of Marilyn S. and Allen M. Bailey, in Anchorage, Alaska. Erin was a delight to her family and attended Bear Valley Elementary School for seven years. She was active in Brownies and Girl Scouts, and served in the Navy ROTC program at Service High School. She graduated from Service High and later graduated from UAA with a degree in psychology. Erin's way of life was to be kind, generous and tolerant, and she loved all colors of the rainbow in her relationships with others. She also loved the colors of the rainbow, showing off her bright and colorful wardrobe in her social life, dancing in clubs and in working for promoter Mike Mason and others in the evening and music production scenes. Erin worked as a retail photo tech, served as a cashier at Tommy's Burger Stop and particularly enjoyed working on the crews for a number of band events in Anchorage, Chickaloon and Talkeetna.
A service will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, at Tudor and Lake Otis, on Nov. 27, 2017, at 4:30 p.m. A reception will follow in the parish hall next to the sanctuary.
The burial will be on the morning of Nov. 28, 2017, at Angelus Memorial Park, off Klatt Road in Anchorage.
Erin is survived by her parents; brothers, Allen Lee Bailey; and Christian M. Bailey; Allen's wife, Candice; her uncles, Rodney Sparks; Charles Smithson; Bruce Hendricks; Richard Jackson; Melvin Steadman; and Craig Bailey; and aunts, Heidi Smithson; Laurie Hendricks; Carolyn Odor; Brenda Steadman; Elizabeth Jackson; Debbie Bouseman; Freda Sparks; and Donna Bailey; step-grandmother, Barbara Bailey; 18 cousins; other extended family members; and hundreds of friends.
