Esther Greta Purdy-Weimer, 87, passed away on August 15, 2017 at home in Anchorage, Alaska. Esther was born on February 16, 1930 in Vestal, New York. She graduated from Baptist Bible College in Johnson City, New York. She came to Alaska in July, 1954. She lived in Homer, Sterling, Soldotna, Anchor Point, Kenai, Levelock and Anchorage.

Esther was a missionary with Baptist Mid-Missions and a Baptist Pastor's wife. She was a counselor /mentor at the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Anchorage.

Esther enjoyed crafts, crochet, tea-parties and cooking.

Esther is survived by her husband of 66 years, Paul A. Weimer; daughters Rebecca (Thom) Hibpshman, Hope (Brian) Matranga; sons Daniel (Debbie) Weimer, Nathan (Christina) Weimer; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 4:00 pm at the Dimond Boulevard Baptist Church, 3616 W. Dimond Blvd, Anchorage, Alaska. Dan and Nathan Weimer will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Brian Matranga, Thom Hibpshman, Micah Hibpshman, Sam Weimer, Nick Weimer and Luke Weimer.
