Eugene "Gene" J. Heath, 84, of East Troy, Wis., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at East Troy Manor. He was born June 11, 1933 in Montana, the son of the late Stewart and Luisa (Feickert) Heath. Gene was united in marriage to Marian M. DeLaurier on July 13, 2002 at the First English Lutheran Church of Whitewater, Wis. He served in the Naval Reserves. Gene spent his years working as an aircraft mechanic on numerous airplanes and helicopters. His favorite hobbies were restoring antique cars and volunteering hours at the Alaska Museum of Transportation and Industry in Wasilla, Alaska.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Marian; two sisters, Anita Channing of Plover, Wis. and Leta (Alvin) Obenauer of Whitewater, Wis.; brother, DeJay (Cyndi) Heath of Sun City, Ariz.; three nieces and nephews; Christopher (Dana) Obenauer, Laura (Alan) Piller and Stephanie Channing; and seven great-nieces.
Memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, Wis., 53121, with Rev. Jerald Wendt officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the Funeral Home. Private inurnment at Roselawn Memory Garden.
