Gary Michael Horrell, 67, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016, in Mill Creek, Wash. A long time Alaskan, Gary relocated to Anacortes, Wash., where his grandparents lived and his mother grew up. He was a teacher, coach and education administrator before retiring in 1996. Gary continued coaching for several years in the Anacortes area. Coach Horrell was always inspired by various sports; many young athletes benefited from his energy and dedication to the field. Gary is survived by daughters, Emilie Springer, Jacquelyn Horrell and Nadia Sethi; seven grandchildren; brothers, Don and Greg Horrell; sister, Connie Ravenel; many nephews; and a niece. He was also clearly grateful for all the time in the last several years of his life he spent with Chrissy Crissinger. The legacy that Gary left us is we need to go through life with a winning attitude and enjoy the challenges it brings. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service to celebrate Gary's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Evans Funeral Chapel, with a reception following the service.
