George Henry Bucholz, 86, of Denton, Texas, formerly of Portland, Ore., and Anchorage, died Saturday, April 24, 2010.

A memorial celebration was held in Denton and was attended by family and friends.

He was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Burnaby, New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, to George Robinson Valentine and Susanna Ella Annie (Goodson) Bucholz.

He married Edythe Louise Trumble on June 21, 1952, in Portland, Ore.

He resided in Anchorage from the early 2000s until about 2007.

He is survived by three daughters, Shelley Kreidel of Hackensack, N.J.; Barbara Niven of Los Angeles; and Kim Ross of Aubrey, Texas. He is also survived by one brother, Charles Bucholz of Tucson, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Shannon Gravalis, Kelly Kreidel, Jessica Niven-Kohring, Joseph Daniels and Jonathan Daniels; and five great-grandchildren, Steven, Nicole, Jenna, Kayla and Lucy.

Arrangements are with Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey, Texas.
