Lifelong Alaska resident Grace Ella George Beach, 69, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, while recovering from surgery at Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. A service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home - Heritage Chapel at Angelus, 440 East Klatt Road in Anchorage, on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017. Visitation begins at 10 a.m., and service at noon, with burial to follow.
Ella was born on Oct. 31, 1948 at Unalakleet, Alaska, to Wasillie and Esther Agibinik. She graduated from Mt. Edgecumbe High School and Alaska Business College. Ella outlived three husbands: Alton George from Yakutat, Alaska; Harry Ely; and Wade Beach from Seldovia, Alaska. She lived in Unalakleet, Anchorage, Kotzebue and Sitka, and enjoyed traveling around Alaska. At the time of her passing, she was living in Anchorage. Ella enjoyed bingo, berry picking, fishing, baking, crocheting, Scrabble and many other games. She called relatives and friends every day, and she knew their numbers by heart. Over the years Ella babysat many children, grandnieces and nephews, and cheered at their ballgames, Native dance performances, and even cleaned the fish they caught.
Ella is survived by her sister, Carrie Agibinik; nieces, Angela (Vicki) Lindblade, Arlene Anderson, Margaret Agibinik-Knox and Steffani Coxwell; and nephews, Tony Hillis, Wes Rasmussen and J. Allen Agibinik. She was preceded in death by her son, Wasillie "Gabe" Agibinik Jost; parents, Wasillie and Esther Agibinik; siblings, Martin, Myrtle "Bunny" (Rasmussen), Walter, Waldon and Calvin "Jake." Ella leaves behind many cousins, distant relatives and good friends.
