Hal David Balaban, 67, passed away at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska, on Oct. 3, 2017.
Hal was born in Denver, Colo., on Aug. 14, 1950. He attended Western State College and Colorado State University and was a Microsoft certified technician. From 1985 to 1992, he worked for Frontier Ford in Cupertino, Calif., then moved to Alaska and worked for the Millennium Alaska Hotel in Anchorage, among other various jobs.
Hal enjoyed listening to rock and roll; he loved technology and his beloved cat, Merlin. From 1985 to 1992, he received numerous sales awards, including Ford 300-500 Master Salesman and Salesman of the Year Awards. With his love and passion for technology, he received and became an A+ certified and Microsoft certified professional.
Survivors include his sister, Lisa (Balaban) Mozer of Wilmette, Ill.; his beloved cat, Merlin in Anchorage; and his aunt and uncle, Arlene and Art Moss of Denver, Colo. He was preceded in death by his father, Harlan Balaban, on Aug. 5, 2013; and his mother, Norma (Goldman) Balaban, on Jan. 23, 2014.
Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel in Anchorage.
