Harlean Mason Taylor Williams, age 44, died Sept. 20, 2014, of natural causes at home in Medford, Ore. Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, Harlean was a juvenile counselor and athletic coach. Harlean graduated from Lathrop High School in Fairbanks and was an alumnus of Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Ore. He was a varsity wrestler high school and college and accomplished soccer player. Harlean was a gentle soul who never met a stranger. Harlean is survived by his mother, Cynthia E. Aiken; brother, James A. (Mary Joe) Williams Jr.; and nephew, James A. Williams III, all of Anchorage, Alaska,; grandmother, Arletha Williams; uncle, Robert Williams; and aunt, Jean Williams, all of Louisville Ky.; niece, Brienne Barnes M.D. of Houston, Texas; and numerous friends in Oregon and Alaska. Preceded in death by his father, James A Williams Sr.; grandparents, Dorothy and Oscar Taylor; stepfather, Pete W. Aiken; and stepsister, Annette Barnes.
