Lifelong Alaskan James Michael Fejes Sr., "Jim," died unexpectedly at his home on Oct. 27, 2017. Jim was born on Aug. 4, 1956, in Anchorage, Alaska, to Samuel and Joanne Fejes. Raised in South Anchorage to a family that loved sports, travel and the outdoors, Jim was destined for a life of adventure.
Jim graduated from Service High School in 1974, and soon after received his pilot license in 1978. In 1980, Jim received his Alaska assistant guide license and went on to receive his registered guide license and form Tracker Guide Service Inc., catering to big game hunters from around the world. Jim also worked the commercial fishing industry throughout his life and built custom homes and apartments throughout Anchorage. Apart from his life in Alaska, Jim also ran a well known exotic game ranch in Texas for 10 years.
Jim will be remembered fondly by his big smile, booming laugh and wild stories. Jim was a great entertainer and a vivacious story teller. He loved music and films, enjoyed dancing and was the life of any party. He was well known for his big heart and gregarious personality.
Jim is survived by his most prized possessions in his life, his six children, Jimmy Fejes, Brittany Quesnell (Aubin), Andy Fejes, Jillian Fejes, Zane Fejes and Jakob Fejes; brothers, Samuel Fejes (Coco) and Christopher Fejes (Melinda); sister, Susan Fejes; nieces and nephews, Adrianne Fejes, Christopher Fejes, Amanda Fejes, Ashley Fejes and Hunter Fejes; and granddaughter, Suzette Quesnell. Jim was a proud father and passed on his love for Alaska, his sense of adventure, his love for the outdoors and passion to live life to the fullest to all six of his children.
A Celebration of Jim's life will be hosted by his children on Nov. 3, 2017, from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. at his home at 6241 Goldenwood Lane. The family invites friends and loved ones of Jim to join in sharing their memories and stories of Jim and to continue to be inspired by his life full of adventure, love and good times.
