Anchorage resident Jamileh Jilwan, 86, died July 29, 2010, at Providence Alaska Medical Center of congestive heart failure.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E St. A rosary will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 3900 Wisconsin St., with a service at 5:30 p.m. The Rev. Vincent Blanco will officiate.

Jamileh was born June 5, 1924, in Lebanon.

She was a housewife.

She loved gardening and taking care of her family.

Her family wrote: "Beloved mother of five children, she put her life in danger to bring her family to America, a safer place. She was a loving, caring person, who always thought of others."

She is survived by her husband, Youssef Jilwan; daughters, Souhayla-Daher and Hoda Bou Ghosn and their families; sons, John, Emile and Assia and their families; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Tom and his family; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Doumit Fayad; mother, Louisa Fayad; and sisters, Nafla Michael and Wahibe Jilwan.
