Jane Louise Mascaro, 74, passed away on Oct. 31, 2017, at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Jane was born on Nov. 30, 1942, in Titusville, Pa. She graduated from Tionesta High School. Jane worked in customer service with Blair (New Process Company) in Warren, Pa. She has made Anchorage, Alaska, her home since June 30, 2014.
She enjoyed photography, scrapbooking and ceramics.
"Jane never met anyone who was a stranger for long. She had a quality that put everyone at ease and was an understanding and giving friend to all. She would give someone in need her last dime if they needed it. She was not a materialistic person but certainly left an impression for a lifetime on everyone. She will be missed by all and the hole in our lives that has been created by her loss is great. May everyone fill that hole with memories of her and strive to daily provide the same kindness and understanding that each of us received from Jane."
Jane is survived by her friend who she lived with for over 37 years, Judy Haskins of Anchorage; brother and sister-in-law, Harry William "Bill" and Patricia Mascaro of Youngsville, Pa.; two nephews, Stephen Mascaro of Warren, Pa., and Billy Mascaro of Sykesville, Md.; extended family with several cousins, nieces and nephews; and dozens of loving friends and children who called her "Aunt Jane."
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth "Betty" Mascaro and James Joseph "Jake" Mascaro; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
