Jason Taylor Collins,42, went to his heavenly home on July 12, 2013 after a five year fight with cancer. Jason was born May 29, 1971 in Fresno, California. He served eight years in the Navy and was on the USS Independence during the Gulf War.

He married Joy Schoenleben, the love of his life on June 3, 2000. They came to Alaska in 2005. On July 20, 2007, his precious McKenna Ann was born. Jason was a great dad. He and McKenna shared special Taco Tuesday dates each week. McKenna loved to watch Jay's puppet shows with socks on his hands. He fought hard to see McKenna reach her 6th birthday on Saturday.

Jason had a degree in aeronautical engineering and taught ANP Certification courses at Westwood College of Aviation Technology. Using spare change, he started Mental Health Billing Solutions. He and Joy enjoyed working together-seeing each throughout the day. He waved from his office window each time she came or left the office.

Jason-bigger than life, had a big heart, a unique sense of humor, and made a difference in many people's lives. Jason enjoyed trying to crack CIA codes; calling talk radio; eating double, double animal style In and Out Burgers; and driving his old, blue truck.

Jason is preceded in death by brother Mike Lane. Surviving him is wife Joy; daughter McKenna; parents, Jerry and Lerae Lane; sister Sonja Hudson; nieces Morgan and Madison Lane; sister Jamie Lansaw; nephew Trevor Anderson; father/mother-in-law, Pastors Marlan and Ruth Schoenleben, brother-in-law, Brad Schoenleben; sister-in-law Meghan Schoenleben; and nephew Grant Collins Schoenleben.

A Memorial Service will be held at his church, Joy Christian Center, Tuesday, July 16th. Viewing at 5:00; service at 6:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a college fund for McKenna. Checks are to be made as a DONATION payable to Joy Collins at any Alaska USA Credit Union Branch.

In spite of the grief in our hearts, we have great peace knowing that Jason is in the presence of his Savior whom he loved very much.
