North Pole resident Jesse Allen Jones, 23, died Oct. 11, 2007, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident in Fairbanks.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at College Heights Baptist Church in Soldotna. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at the Kenai City Cemetery. Pastor Scott Coffman will officiate. Pallbearers will include Claude Jones, Eli Jones, Michael Jones, Sarah Jones-Foster, Matthew Jones and Ruben Foster.
Jesse was born May 3, 1984, to Pamela and Claude Jones in Juneau. He worked for the Alaska Laborers Union in Fairbanks.
His family wrote: " Jesse loved his family. His family loves him more than anything. Jesse loved his life and he loved it happily. Jesse loved to do so many things, but mostly enjoyed snowboarding, playing his guitar and singing, grouse hunting, fishing, riding his four wheeler and snowmachine, mainly just to get himself and his snowboard up the mountain faster. He was adventurous, knowledgeable, and he was wise beyond his years. Jesse was the most hilarious person you could ever be so fortunate to meet. You've never seen anyone work as hard as Jesse, and he would work harder for anyone who asked. Always willing, always helpful and always so happy. Jesse lived his life, true (to himself). He will be dearly missed forever."
His family added that he is loved and missed very much and family members look forward to seeing him in heaven.
Jesse was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil and Dorothy Oleman.
He is survived by his parents, Claude Edward and Pamela Kay Jones of Haines; brothers, Eli Virgil Jones of Pahrump, Nev., and Michael Edward Jones of Keau, Hawaii; sister, Sarah Kay Jones-Foster of Soldotna; brother, Matthew Claude Jones of Keau; half-sister, Tina Archuleta of Ceres, Calif.; girlfriend, Carrie Konichek of North Pole; nieces, Trinity Ann Jones of Pahrump, Kyla Marie Jones of Keau, Summer Kay-Elaine Foster of Soldotna, Ally Nicole Jones of Keau and Dezirae Lynn Sanchez of Ceres; nephews, Joshua Sonny-James Foster of Soldotna, Garet Claude-Jeffrey Jones of Keau, Owen Michael-Edward Jones of Keau, Thatcher Eli Jones of Pahrump, and Johnny Joseph Sanchez of Ceres; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
