Jack, "Coach Pete", Peterson, 84, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, in Eugene, Oregon.

Jack taught and coached at West and Dimond High Schools before transferring to East High School in 1970 where he also taught and coached many sports.

In 1985, he and his wife, Jean, retired to Eugene, Oregon. Still loving to coach and be involved with sports, he coached football at South Eugene High School. As an official with the U.S. Track and Field Association and the Oregon Track Club, he worked many NCAA finals and U.S. National team finals at Hayward Field.

He is survived by Jean, his wife of 60 years, and numerous other relatives.

He will be cremated with a scattering of his ashes to take place next summer in Anchorage and Livingston, Montana.
