Joshua Allan Hurst died Oct. 19, 2009 at Providence Hospital in Anchorage.

A celebration of life will be arranged in the spring of 2010.

Joshua was born on Nov. 7, 1983.

His family wrote: "Joshua, 25 years young, was the 'gentle giant' that had no enemies. He was an accomplished chef. He loved his family and friends. From Job Corps in Palmer, to Pogo Mine up in Delta Junction. Joshua is going to be greatly missed. Everyone that knew Joshua would agree that rather than 'passed on' or 'died', he would have preferred to be 'breaking trail' for the rest of us."

He is survived by his mother, Susan Kopczenski; his father, Allan Hurst from Oklahoma; his dad, Andy Kopczenski; three brothers, John, Michael and Nick; and three sisters, Sarah, Stacy and Jenny.

Joshua was a regular donor to the Blood Bank of Alaska and your donation of blood in his name would make him proud.
