Anchorage resident, Joshua Grant Sweet, 27, passed away suddenly at home in Anchorage, Alaska, on April 20, 2015. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 11701 Puma Street in Anchorage, off of Klatt Road, with a celebration of life immediately afterwards. His family will have Joshua's ashes interred at the Angelus Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Joshua was born on June 25, 1987, in Anchorage, Alaska, and has been a lifelong Alaskan. Joshua graduated from South Anchorage High School in 2005. He had been working for the MI SWACO (company) at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. Joshua loved all things Alaskan, he enjoyed hiking, fishing, camping, chopping wood, teasing, scaring people and going on "Sweet" adventures, working out and spending time with his family and friends. The family remembers Josh as being an amazing father, husband, son and friend. Joshua has provided us with kindness, tears, laughter and love. We have been through good times and bad times but he was always there for us with a smile and a hug. We could not be more proud of the man he became, "Goodnight Mr. Sweet." Joshua was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Darwin Smith; and his grandmother, Ruthe Edith Sweet. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Sweet of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter, Sophia Sweet of Anchorage, Alaska; mother, Lori Sweet of Anchorage, Alaska; father, Keven Sweet of Naples, Fla.; brother, Marcus Sweet of Naples, Fla.; grandmother, Darlene "Nana" Smith of Anchorage, Alaska; grandfather, Erwin "Buzz" Sweet of Idaho; and stepmother, Marcela Sweet of Naples, Fla.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Alaska, Virginia, Florida, and California. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for Sophia Sweet, C/O Alaska USA Account#1630765 S20. Arrangements are under the direction of the Anchorage Funeral Home, 1800 Dare Avenue, Anchorage, AK 99515. You are invited to visit Joshua's online guest book and obituary at
