June Marie Hoffman, 65, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 9, 2011, at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, with visitation from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., at St. Mary's Episcopal Church. A memorial potluck will be after the service.

June was born June 29, 1945, in Tanana to Casimer Albert and Pauline Swenson.

She will always be remembered as a kind, loving, thoughtful, caring woman who had a deep compassion for her grandchildren and family.

June is survived by her husband, Richard Hoffman Sr. of Bethel; brother, Herb Albert and sister-in-law Mattie Sagoonick of Anchorage; sister, Freda Van Patten of Wasilla; brother, Bobby Albert of Koyukuk; children, Nora and husband Joseph Liberty of Portland, Ore., Richard Jr. and wife Kendra Hoffman of Bethel, and Georgina Hoffman and Aaron Sumstad of Anchorage; grandsons, Joey Liberty, Timothy, Kenneth, Richard III and Cameron Hoffman and Sebastian Sumstad; and one lovely granddaughter, Justice Liberty; brothers-in-law, Stanley, Robert and Gregory Hoffman; and sisters-in-law, Anita (Geerdts), Bertha, Sally (Charles), Jesslyn and Irene Hoffman; nephews, Kevin, Stacey, Adrian, Brandon, Cody, Donovan, Robert, George, Lance, Courtney, Darold "Bugs," Stanley Jr., William, Roy, Scott, Andy, Thomas and Gregory Jr.; and nieces, Edwina, Kristy, Rochelle A., Gloria, Sherry, Karen, Gwendolyn, Fern, MaryJay, Rachelle J., Shannon, Robyn, Valerie, Stephanie, Cindy, Renee, Jamie and Roselyn.

June was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, George and Nora Edwin; father-in-law, Chief Edward and mother-in-law, Bessie Hoffman; brothers-in-law, Edward "Sonny" Hoffman and Larry Van Patten; sisters-in-law, Margaret, Clarisse Hoffman and Cheryl Albert; nephews, Edward "Gookie," James Hoffman and James Kinegak; and niece, Elizabeth "Ti-Ti" Moore.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alaska USA Federal Credit Union.
