Karen Williams Ince, 64, our beloved mother, sister and grandmother passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 24, 2017, at home.
She was born on Feb. 10, 1953, at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois and, as an "Air Force brat," traveled and lived in many places in the U.S. from, the East Coast to Hawaii, as well as in Germany. She graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law and was licensed to practice in Texas and Alaska. Giving of her time, she volunteered as an advocate for foster children through the Alaska Court Appointed Special Advocates. Karen retired as an Assistant Attorney General, Department of Law for the State of Alaska.
She was a loving and devoted mother to her three sons, Jeffrey of Laramie, Wyo., Eric of Anchorage, and Mark and his wife Tamatha of Juneau, Alaska. Her grandsons, Kyler, Jaden and Blake, were the joys of her life along with her stepgrandsons, Anthony and Cameron. She is also survived by three sisters, Dianne Fell of Pearland, Texas, Nita Williams of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Laura Drexler of Portland, Ore.; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Karen was an avid reader of good books who enjoyed being outdoors in her gorgeous garden, drinking her morning latte, reveling in the sunshine.
Private services were held.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donating to USO's Operation Phone Home, or the ASPCA.
A celebration of life will be held off Diamond Head in Hawaii at a later date.
