Kathleen "Kathy" Emily Lyons, 72, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016, quietly and peacefully while surrounded by her family. She was born in Toledo, Ore., to William and Luella Babcock. After marrying her high school sweetheart and having two children in Oregon, the young family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1969, where they had two more children, and have lived there since. She was a homemaker who devoted herself fully to her family and many friends. She will always be remembered by her fabulous fudge and her ability to turn strangers into friends. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles "Chuck" Lyons of Anchorage; daughter, Kelly Lyons of Washington; daughter, Diana Lyons of Anchorage; son, Charles "Chuck" Lyons with wife Ann of South Carolina; grandchildren, RaeDean Crow, Trevor Crow and Jessica Crow of Anchorage, Kelley Satcher and Mitchell Shull with wife Hannah of South Carolina; great-grandchildren, Jayden Crow of Anchorage, Kailyn Johnson, Braylee Satcher, Dakota Satcher and Leon Shull of South Carolina; brother, William Dean Babcock of Wasilla, Alaska, Glenn Babcock with wife Sandy of Oregon, and brother Edward Babcock with wife Barbara of Oregon; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, along with many, many friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Lyons of Anchorage. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016, starting at 11 a.m., followed by a potluck, at Turnagain United Methodist Church, 3300 West Northern Lights Blvd. The family wishes to thank Dr. Karen Mailer and the staff at Providence Extended Care, Deshka Cottage, for their great care and commitment to taking care of Kathy. Her sunny disposition and smile will be missed by all.
