Kimberly Dawn "Kim" (Buchanan) Carson (1963 - 2017)

Kim Carson, 54, passed away at home in Anchorage, Alaska, on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017.
A memorial service will take place on June 1, 2018 at the Legacy Heritage Chapel at Angelus Cemetery in Anchorage, with the burial immediately following the service.
Kimberly Dawn Carson was born on March 22, 1963 in Ketchikan, Alaska, to Robert and Beverly Buchanan. Kim was known by many as a loving mother who adored her three sons, her family, and her friends very dearly. She enjoyed camping with her family in the great Alaskan wilderness, crocheting, sewing, crafting, cooking, listening to music, singing, and entertaining her family and friends. Out of her numerous talents, Kim was most passionate about crocheting blankets and clothing for her family and close friends. Kim learned how to crochet from her grandmother, Signe Nelson, when she was just eight years old; and by the time she was an adult, was able to crochet a baby blanket in under four hours.
Kim grew up in Ketchikan, but later moved to Central Point, Ore., where she graduated from Crater High School in 1981. In high school, Kim played on the Crater Comet's girls basketball team. She attended Southern Oregon State College and worked as a bank teller in Medford, Ore., before moving back home, this time, to Anchorage, in 1984. From then on, Kim worked with the First National Bank of Alaska, The Anchorage School District, and NorCoast Mechanical.
Kim is survived by her three sons, Matthew; Alexander; and Evan; her sister, Susie Downey; and her brother, Buck Buchanan; and her parents, Robert and Beverly Buchanan.
