Wasilla resident Kimberly "Kim" Irene Fickle passed away with her loving family at her side on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at the young age of 47, shortly after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Kim was born on Feb. 27, 1970, in West Covina, Calif., to Annette and Bob Martinez. Her parents eventually moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she grew up, met, and married Bob Fickle. Kim and Bob were married for 31 years and raised three children together.
Kim was a very caring and loving person who appreciated the little things in life. She was extremely family orientated and immensely loved raising her children and being Bob's wife. She was also a proud grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter. In her spare time she made bracelets and took pictures of beautiful flowers.
Kim will be cremated and part of her ashes will be scattered where her father in-law, Danny Fickle's, ashes were spread at Hatcher's Pass, Alaska. Her remaining ashes will be combined with her mother's ashes and scattered over Susitna Mountain at a later date.
Kim is survived by her loving husband, Bob Fickle of Wasilla, Alaska; their children, Kara Fickle of Wasilla, Kimberly Fickle of Anchorage, and Dylan Fickle of Wasilla. She is also survived by her sister and brother in-law, Cheri Martinez and Bob Honeysett of Wasilla.
A memorial service in celebration of Kimberly Fickle's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at Janssen's Mat-Su Funeral Home - 6901 East Blue Lupine Drive, Palmer, Alaska (Frontage road of the Parks Hwy). A reception will immediately follow and all family and friends are encouraged to attend.
