Kimberly Layne Upchurch-Nueman, 36, of Katy, TX, passed away on February 16, 2013 due to complications from lupus. She was born on October 6, 1976 in Anchorage, AK.

Kimberly attended Anchorage schools and Service HS and graduated from Bandera HS in 1994. She attended the Texas School of Business in Houston and Dallas to ultimately become a court reporter. She was an avid reader and writer and loved spending time with her animals, family and friends. She had an off the wall sense of humor and loved everything "moose". She was a prime example of - you can take the girl out of Alaska, but you can't take Alaska out of the girl. She had a smile that could light up a room. She will be greatly missed.

Kimberly is survived by her mother Karen Upchurch of Anchorage, AK, father Kenneth Upchurch and step-mother Debby Upchurch of Medina, TX, and sister Kristal Upchurch of Boise, ID; husband Jeffrey Nueman of Houston, TX; grandparents Virgil and Janice Vial of Anchorage, AK and Velda Vial of Hamilton, MT; uncles Mike Vial of Willow, AK and Mark Vial (Connie Cavasos) of Homer, AK; cousins Suzanne Steed, Sandra Vial, Steven Vial, Samantha Vial and families of Wasilla, AK and Andrew Vial of Knoxville, TN; aunts Nancy Nelson of Soldotna, AK, Karen Higley of Bend, OR, and uncle Bill Upchurch of Eagle River, AK and their families; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Joe and Nancy Upchurch of Soldotna, AK, uncle Bobby Upchurch of Paris, TX and cousin Caitlyn Vial of Anchorage, AK.

Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Hamilton, MT on May 25, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Sarah Beck officiating. A reception will follow at Daly-Leach Memorial Chapel, 1010 W Main Street, Hamilton, MT. Funeral arrangements provided by Daly-Leach and Grimes Funeral Chapel of Kerrville, TX.
