Knute Anderson, 88, from King Cove, Alaska, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2018, in Anchorage, Alaska. He was born on Sanak Island, Alaska, on May 21, 1929, to Fritz and Melinda "Molly" Anderson. Knute spent most of his life commercial fishing and when he retired from fishing, he was the night watchman at the King Cove Harbor House for many years. He also served in the Alaska Territorial Guard during World War II. His daughter said her dad was the kindest man ever, who loved telling her stories about living on Sanak Island.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina; and stepchildren, Anne-Marie, Raymond, Richard and Lillian; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren, who loved him very much.
Knute was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Anderson; his twin sister, Molly Wiester; and brother, Fritz Anderson. You are loved and will be missed.
A visitation and service will be held at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 17, 2018, with viewing beginning at 12 p.m., and service at 1 p.m. A graveside service will be held in King Cove, Alaska, at a date and time to be announced.
