Larry Michael Frazier, 53, passed away on July 25, 2017, at Alaska Regional Hospital after a very brief battle with cancer.
Services will be held at 3p.m. on Aug. 12, 2017, at Cornerstone Church, 10431 Brayton Drive in Anchorage, Alaska. A barbecue reception will follow; please bring a side dish, salad or dessert to share.
Larry was born on May 17, 1964, in Renton, Wash. Larry met his teenage sweetheart, Sandra, in November 1979; they married on July 11, 1986, in Anchorage, and welcomed a baby girl in 1989. Julianna was and still is the light of her daddy's eyes. In 2014, his first grandchildren were born, Margaret and Michael. He was the proudest grandfather. He was blessed with two more grandchildren in 2015, Abigail and Everett. He adored these children.
Larry was a mechanic with many certifications. When he had his own repair shop, you could call up, describe the noise and he could most always tell what was wrong. There was nothing he could not fix. During this time he was a vendor for Carlile and became an employee in 2001, working his way to shop manager.
He spent many years racing cars forming a team, Chevy Power with his buddy, Don. Together they won many races and titles. He recently began building and running Yetti R.C. cars with his buddy, Jeff. Though he doesn't drive anymore, he continues to be involved as Pit Boss for his brother, John, and his kids.
His family wrote: "Larry was the most loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a true and loyal friend to many. Larry will be remembered and missed by many. He will always be in our hearts."
Larry is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter and son-in-law, Julianna and Cody Schaffer; grandchildren, Margaret, Michael, Abigail and Everett Schaffer, all of
Anchorage; sister, Colleen Frazier-Ross of Idaho; nieces, Erika, McKenzie and Brooke, all of Idaho; brothers, Jake Jacobsen of Washington and John McDonald of Alaska; his mother, Nancy Burton of Nevada; and many friends and honorary children, grandchildren and previous foster children.
He is preceded in death by his father, George Frazier; and his brother, George Jr.
