Lawrence Jay Drew, 56, passed away from natural causes on Feb. 10, 2018, at home in Naknek, Alaska. He was born on May 5, 1961, in Illiamna, Alaska.
Lawrence played basketball and was an all-star wrestler at Bristol Bay High School and graduated May 1980. He was a commercial fisherman and baggage handler for Air Pac. He was a Big Game Guide and worked at King Air.
A public visitation will be held on Feb. 23, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street in Anchorage, Alaska. A funeral service will follow at noon. Pallbearers will be: Bruce Lawrence, Riley Lawrence, Drew Medaugh, Robert Turpin, Nathan Turpin and George White. Lawrence will be laid to rest in Naknek Cemetery.
He was affiliated with the St Innocent Orthodox Church.
Lawrence in survived by his mother, Nellie Drew of Anchorage; sisters, Nancy White of New Mexico and Natalie Drew of Anchorage; brother, Clyde Drew of Anchorage; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Drew; sister, Jennifer Turpin; niece, Amber Drew; and nephew, William Turpin.
Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
