Linda June Applegate Clark, born February 3, 1928, in Minatare, Nebraska, went to be with her Lord May 5, 2014.

Linda, a Wasilla resident since 1993, was a retired Southern Baptist Missionary. She had served alongside her husband, the late James L. Clark, since first arriving in Anderson, Alaska, in 1973.

Growing up on a ranch in Western Nebraska, Linda developed characteristics such as hard work, determination, and a willingness to serve others. These attributes, along with an unfailing love for the Lord, were evident while raising a family and serving as a Pastor's wife and missionary on the Last Frontier.

During her retirement years, Linda served at her local church, First Baptist Church in Palmer, and was active with the Alaska Baptist Convention. Her home was always open to friends and family and was truly filled with love and laughter.

Linda is survived by one sister, Phyllis Kappen of Bayard, NE; and five children and spouses: Bernie and Janet Clark of Liberty, NC, Timothy and Glenda Clark of Springfield, OR, Matthew and Frances Clark of Talkeetna, AK, Rebecca and Jack Sherman of Palmer, AK, and Mark and Teresa Clark of Kingsville, TX. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Thelma Applegate; two brothers, Keith Applegate and Robert Applegate; one sister, Betty Dugger; and her loving husband of 62 years, James Clark.

The funeral service for Linda Applegate Clark will be Thursday, May 15, 2014, at First Baptist Church, 1150 E. Helen Street, Palmer, AK at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Jack Sherman Officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to service.

The family has requested that Memorial Contributions in Linda's name be made to Alaska Baptist Foundation, 1750 O'Malley Road, Anchorage, AK 99507.

Arrangements were entrusted to Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory of Wasilla.
