Linda K. (Parks) Henderson, 70, of Chugiak, Alaska, passed away on Dec. 1, 2017, at Providence Alaska Medical Center. She was born on April 1, 1947, in Hammond, Ind., to the late Walter E. and Mary K. (Kmatz) Parks. Linda, a kind neighbor and loving wife, succumbed to her battle with pancreatic cancer on Friday. Linda grew up in rural Lowell, Ind., and graduated from Lowell High School in 1965. After moving to Alaska, she started working for Western (Delta) Airlines in 1972, and met the love of her life, Ralph Henderson. Linda and Ralph went on many flying, hunting, fishing and gold panning adventures with family and friends. She was a long time member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America. Linda has been reunited with her husband, Ralph, in a better place, where her pain and sorrow have been replaced with joy and happiness.
Linda is survived by three brothers, Tom Parks (Robyn), Wally Parks (Sarah) and Rick Parks; niece, Marybeth Parks; nephews, Mike Parks (Janice), Tommy Parks and Peter Parks; stepdaughter, Barb Cleveland (Scott); stepsons, Will Henderson (Theresa) and Mike Henderson; stepnieces, stepnephews; grandchildren; her dog, Goldie; and cat, O.C.
Preceding her in death are her parents; and husband, Ralph Henderson.
Her family and friends would like to thank the staff and doctors of Providence for their wonderful care and compassion given Linda in her last weeks.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to . A celebration of life will be held at the Lions Club in Eagle River on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Please bring a dish to share with Linda's friends.
