Loretta Ramstad Homan passed away due to a heart attack on July 19, 2017.
Loretta was born Nov. 17, 1942, in Seattle, Wash., to Joel and Jean Ramstad, a pioneer Alaskan gold mining family. Loretta grew up in Seattle and Anchorage, Alaska, graduating from Anchorage High School in 1961. She married Don Homan and raised three children: Don, Michael and Laura.
Loretta could always be heard supporting her children at baseball, football and hockey games; and at dog shows. She also loved to support her grandchildren during their activities. She loved to knit, crochet, paint, draw and talk with her friends and family.
Loretta is survived by her husband, Don; children, Don (Janice) Homan of Salem, Utah, Mike Homan of
Anchorage and Laura Homan of Chugiak, Alaska; grandchildren, Lani (Brian) Homan Taylor of Spanish Fork, Utah, Morgan (Natalie) Homan of Athens, Ohio, Rhys Homan of Salem, Utah, Kathryn (Nate) Ramos of New Jersey, Ashley, Michael and Jeffery Homan of Mesa, Ariz., and Nani Homan of Anchorage; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Phil and Stuart Ramstad and Francis, Mike, Collin and Duncan Szymanski; and sister, Rosie Szymanski; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by both parents; older brother, Joey Ramstad; nephew, Scott Ramstad; and niece, Kierin Ramstad Habermann.
In lieu of any services, Loretta asked that her friends gather with their families and create a new memory.
