Marcia Jean (LaBarr) Clark was born on Sept. 7, 1939, in Carson City, Mich. She passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 5, 2017, at the age of 78, of pancreatic cancer.
Marcie and her husband, Romie, met in high school in Michigan, marrying shortly after she graduated. They celebrated 59 years of marriage in July 2017. They spent the early years of their marriage in California and Oregon, where their children were born, before moving to Alaska in the fall of 1968.
For many years, Marcie worked as a bookkeeper for Tom's Plumbing and Unit Company as well as for Frontier Research. She enjoyed gardening, playing bunco with her "Alaska family," Jazzercise and yoga, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Evart and Ila Belle LaBarr; and her sisters, Patricia Silvernail and Sharon Evans. She is survived by her husband, Romie; her son and daughter-in-law, Bret and Nancy Clark; her daughter and son-in-law, Becky Clark and Mat Becker; and grandchildren, Ian and Emma Clark. She also leaves her brother, Bill LaBarr; and many nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Providence Hospice for all of their help and support.
A celebration of Marcie's life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at 6:30 p.m., at Russian Jack Chalet. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Providence Hospice.
