Mary Lou Harry passed away on Feb. 18, 2018, at the age of 72.
Mary Lou was born on March 12, 1945, in Little Rock Ark., but has been a longtime Alaskan, moving here in 1963. She worked at the Anchorage School District in Food Service and was an Eastern Star at her church, Greater Friendship Baptist Church. In her spare time, she loved listening to various types of music and enjoying her family.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Harry-Straker, John D. Harry, Kenneth W. Harry, Sean D. Harry, Sheila R. Harry and Greg and Marcus Rhinehart; her sister, Delores Mixon-Gilkey; her brothers, John D. Mixon, Oz Jackson, Robert Jr. Mixon and John Henry-Mixon; and by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John W. Harry; her father, Robert Mixon; her mother, Lydia Gulley-Mixon; her sisters, Mary Lois Mixon and Maydel Mixon-Zachery; and her brother, Odell Mixon.
A Public Viewing will be held at noon, followed by a Homegoing Service at 1 p.m., for Mary Lou at Legacy Funeral Homes Heritage Chapel at Angelus Memorial Park, 440 East Klatt Road, Anchorage, AK 99515, on Feb. 27, 2018. A Reception and Fellowship will follow at Greater Friendship Baptist Church, 903 East 13th Avenue, Anchorage, AK 99501. Donations can be given to Sean Harry at the Homegoing Service or Reception.
