Mary Louise Hartman, 89, passed away on Feb. 18, 2018, at her daughter's home in Anchorage, Alaska, where she was surrounded by family members. Mary was born July 4, 1928, in Toledo, Iowa. She graduated from Toledo High School. She later met the love of her life, Oliver Hartman. They were married in 1947, and remained married for 54 years until Oliver passed away on April 24, 2001. They spent time living in Iowa and Oregon before moving to Alaska in 1970, where Mary spent the rest of her days.
According to her family, Mary was the world's best mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was also an excellent cook, sewed lots of things for family and friends, and loved playing cards and games with her family. Mary was loved by all she met, and always had a smile, a joke or a funny comment for everyone she was with. She will be missed by all who knew her. Mary had a very kind heart, and was loved immensely by her family who will miss her always, forever and after.
Mary's parents, Lawrence Elmont Reinig and Edna Marie (Finch) Reinig; and sisters, Pauline and Helen Reinig, preceded her in death.
Mary is survived by her brother, Larry Reinig of Iowa; daughters, Carol Hartman of Alaska and Kathleen Hartman of California; son, Steven Hartman of Texas; grandsons, Marco Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzalez, Armando Gonzalez, Derek Hartman and Travis Gravelle all of Alaska, and Shawn Gravelle of California; great-granddaughters, Geena Gonzalez, Angelina Gonzalez, Caydence Gonzalez, Lilaya Gonzalez, Giavanna Gonzalez and Hali Gravelle all of Alaska; great-grandsons, Timothy Gravelle of Alaska, and Benjamin Gravelle of California; great-great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Thomas; and great-great-grandson, Camryn Feller, both of Alaska.
