The day Mike Burke was born a candle was lit on both ends; those ends finally met in this world on Jan. 30, 2018, at his residence in Henderson, Nev. Mike Burke was often compared to folk legends such as Paul Bunyan and John Henry, but to those that knew him, we just called him dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, husband and friend. Though larger than life itself, he was incredibly humble and only saw the good. Funny, kind, carefree, adventurer and fighter are only a few qualities that can describe this mythical man. He loved animals of all sorts and sizes, with a particular soft spot for cats. It's safe to say that Mike Burke left an impression on everyone he met.
Upon his departure he was surrounded by family and loved ones without a dry eye to be seen, I'm sure he was laughing at that fact as he watched over us. Though we will miss his warm embrace and contagious smile, we take with us his spirit that reminds us to love one another, see the good, be kind, be strong!
Mike Burke was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Judy Burke; the love of his life, Maryia Storm; and his beloved cat, Wicca. He leaves behind his son, Thorin Burke; and daughters, Xavier Michael, Randi Ranae and Sabra Johnson; 10 siblings; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life is planned for Feb. 24, 2018, at his residence in Henderson, Nev.
