Milton Gregory Phillips was born in Haines, Alaska, on Nov. 22, 1949, to Paul Eli and Daisy Phillips, where he grew up and then later moved to Juneau, Alaska, where he graduated from Juneau Douglas High School. After he graduated, he was drafted into the Army from 1972 to 1974. After returning from the Army, he worked for B.I.A. in Juneau, and retired from B.I.A. in Anchorage, Alaska.
He is survived by his daughter, Bobbie Jo F. Philips-Johnson of Anchorage; brothers, Paul S., Fred C., Eli W. and John G. Philips of Juneau; sisters, Flora Beierly of Juneau, Vivian Taylor of Anchorage and Nancy D. Phillips of Montana; granddaughter, Janine M. R. Phillips and great-grandkids of Juneau; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Martina Phillips of Anchorage (Jan. 28, 2017); parents, Paul Eli and Daisy Phillips; sisters, Virginia Arnold and Pauline Rose Case; brother, Howard K. Phillips; and granddaughter, Cynthia Marie Phillips.
