Alaska Resident Miriam Jane Harpole, 83, lovingly known as "Jane" passed away on September 30, 2013 at Providence Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina with sister Linda McLeod and Grandson Joe Meacham by her side.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Anchorage Baptist Temple 6401 East Northern Lights Blvd Anchorage, Alaska. Byron Kohfield will be officiating. Following the service a Celebration of Life will be hosted by the Anchorage Baptist Temple's Senior Saints.
Jane was born to Lyle and Miriam Bonney April 19, 1930 in Seattle Washington. She was a true scholar and studied journalism. Jane worked for Boeing as an Administrative Assistant in Seattle Washington.
She became a resident to Alaska in 1970, first living in Kodiak, then Kenai in 1975 where she worked as a legal secretary, retiring in 1995. Her final move was to Anchorage in 2006.
Jane has been reunited with her beloved husband of 58 years, Marion John Harpole, who preceded her death in July 2012.
A devoted Matriarch of five generations, Jane's life purpose was to witness, to love one another and have faith. She was a socialite and loved to read and journal each day. She became fond of wearing hats, and collected many.
Jane was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Kenai, and later attended Anchorage Baptist Temple, and was a proud member of Anchorage Baptist Temple Senior Saints, which brought her great joy. Jane was greatly loved and touched the lives of many.
Jane is survived by daughters, Candace Nixon and Deborah Bear; son, Edward Harpole; sisters, Sue, Lyla, and Linda; brothers, Bix and Tuck Bonney, as well as 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
