Nancy Holman was born in Wood River, Alaska, near Nenana, to Abbie (daughter of Chief Thomas) and Noah Albert on Sept. 8, 1919. Nancy was raised with her 15 siblings in fish camps and winter traplines along the Tanana and Wood Rivers, living a subsistence lifestyle. Nancy attended school at the St. Mark's Mission in Nenana. Nancy could make just about anything out of nothing and accomplish anything she set her mind to do. She was extremely resourceful and enjoyed crafts. Nancy made hatbands out of wooden beads made from willows. She was skilled in knitting, crocheting and sewing (making her own patterns) and scarves out of fabric. She was a great baker and cook as well. Her family was fond of her pies and have memories of her cooking up bread and potato salad. Nancy loved being included in activities and going out for drives, always being the first one in the passenger seat. Nancy was the beloved mother of Judy, Pat, Ginger (Don), Dian, Matthew, Dinah (Tony), Millie (George), Dale (Linda), Edna (Jorge), Rexanne (Sonny) and Flora (Bill and family); her grandchildren, Bryant, Richard, Jenny (John), John, Tom (Muriel), Sam, BJ, Jimmy, Juanita (Dave), Angie (Efren), Vicki (Jeff), Dale (Jessica), Melissa (Duran), William Jr. (Jessica), Francine (Mike), Kathryn (Rodger), Joanne and John Michael (Anna); her great-grandchildren, Dane (Allison), Codi (Jeff), Tori, Johnathan (Karla), Karisa, Karina, Kiara, Tristan, Taryn, Xander, Jacob, Thomas, Josh, Alyssa, Natalie, Ella, Matthew, Degan, Vejah, Sierra, Leena, Sonja, Jeff, Trent, Doug, Sebastian, Nora Day, Andrew, Sid, Cortez, Elizabeth, Aryanah, Vanessa, Casey, Dravon, Brandon, Mikayla, Madison, Shaun, Kiesha, Jason, Saravi, Brayden and Aliyah; and great-great-granddaughter, Adeline; beloved sister of Anne; and aunt of Dan, Michelle (children Justin and Keitha), Patsy (Lloyd and children, Jaycee, Bridget and Miles) and Mikey.
