Nicholas Roger Phillips, 39, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Jan. 24, 2018.
Nick was born in Albuquerque, N.M., and became an Alaska resident in 1981, when his family arrived in Cold Bay. He grew up between Bethel and Wasilla for a few years and eventually settled in Wasilla, Alaska, where he made his lifetime friendships. Nick graduated from Wasilla High School in 1996. He was educated at the University of New Mexico, University of Alaska Anchorage, and the San Diego Golf Academy, where he graduated as a golf pro. Here he found great joy meeting and planning golf tournaments for celebrities and athletic professionals.
He married the love of his life, Angela Rose (Carrier) Phillips, and became a father to her son, Ryan Carrier, on June 29, 2008. His first date with Angie was Aug. 13, 2005, which was as important to him as was his anniversary. They resided in Anchorage, Alaska. Nick was employed by many Lithia dealerships as well as Worthington Ford and Anchorage Chrysler Dodge. You just may be driving one of the many cars he sold.
Nick was a wonderful son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to both the young and old throughout his life.
Nick is survived by his wife, Angela; stepson, Ryan; parents, Robert and Terry Phillips; sisters, Janina Fuller and Briana Rogers; nieces, Maddie and Abbie Fuller; nephews, Jacob and Tony Rogers, and Riston Fuller; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Nick and Louise Luciani and Giles Phillips.
The hole he left behind in our hearts can never again be filled.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1201 East Bogard Road in Wasilla.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nugens Ranch Alcohol and Drug Rehab Center.
