Patsey Marie Bayless, 75, passed away on July 11, 2017, surrounded by family. She was born on March 7, 1942, in Montrose, Colo. Patsey resided in Alaska for 58 years. She was a talented cook known for her wonderful prime rib, soups and breads. She cooked in many restaurants over the years in Alaska. She was an avid gardener, loved to read and enjoyed her flowers. Patsey was also known by all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Nana Pat.
Patsey is survived by four children: Leah Custard (Harold), Cynthia Starnes (Kevin), Rebecca Bayless and Greg Bayless (Sarah). Patsey is also survived by her father, Edward Hill; her sister, Shirley Morris; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Jeff Bayless; mother, Ella Hill; sister, Leora Larimore; and grandson, Brandon McCrary.
A celebration of life will be held on Aug. 17, 2017, at 5:30 p.m., at the home of Kevin and Cynthia Starnes. The family plans to spread her ashes in Copper Center, Alaska, on Aug. 19, 2017.
