Rev. Paul A. Weimer, 87, passed away at home in Anchorage, Alaska, on August 19, 2017. Pastor Weimer was born in Elmira, N.Y., on July 16, 1930. He graduated from Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, N.Y., and was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1952.

Pastor Weimer moved to Alaska in July 1954 and lived in Homer, Sterling, Soldotna, Kenai, Anchor Point, Levelock and Anchorage. He was an avid hunter and small plane pilot. He authored 4 books: "With you Always," "The Shepherd and His Sheep," Finding God" and "Faith." Pastor Weimer came to Alaska with Baptist Mid-Missions July, 1954 and kept that association for 50 years. He planted Dimond Boulevard Baptist Church in 1983 and remained there as pastor until retirement in 2000.

II Timothy 4; 7, 8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them that love his appearing." His goal in living was to hear God say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

Pastor Weimer is survived by his daughters, Rebecca (Thom) Hibpshman and Hope (Brian) Matranga; sons, Daniel (Debbie) Weimer and Nathan (Christina) Weimer; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017, 4:00 PM at Dimond Boulevard Baptist Church. Jeff Offord will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Brian Matranga, Thom Hibpshman, Micah Hibpshman, Sam Weimer, Nick Weimer and Luke Weimer.
