He planted Dimond Boulevard Baptist Church in 1983 and remained there as pastor until retirement in 2000.

II Timothy 4; 7, 8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them that love his appearing." His goal in living was to hear God say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
