Phillip James Pate, age 55, passed away on Sept. 14, 2017, at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska, with his family and friends by his side.
He was born on Sept. 25, 1961, in Bangor, Maine, and grew up in Anchorage, attending East High School and graduating in 1979. He also attended Denver Institute of Technology. He enjoyed anything automotive and loved helping his friends and family fix their cars or anything else in his spare time. Phillip was handy fixing things that were broken.
He was survived by parents, James and Winnie Pate; son, Joshua and Amanda Pate; granddaughters, Shyanne and Melina; daughter, Melissa and Tyler Wilson; grandson, Jackson; sister, Carolyn and Ron Janzen; sister, Joyce Hancock; sister, Loretta and Ray Stastny; and nephews and nieces, David and Jessica Janzen, Jason, Kristin and Max Janzen and Cris and Michael Stastny.
He loved cars, motorcycles, the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at ChangePoint Church, 6689 ChangePoint Drive in Anchorage, at 2 p.m., in the Denali Room.
Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
