Reginald Van Wilson, 59, passed away on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, in Anchorage, Alaska, at Providence Medical Center.
Reginald was born in Florence, S.C., and had lived numerous places across our great country and world with his family; and he has been a resident of Alaska for 47 years.
Reginald is preceded in death by his mother, Inell A. Wilson; father, George L. Wilson Sr.; sister, Roseanne Wilson; and grandmother, Lillie Mae Scott.
Reginald is survived by his daughter, Joselyn Wallace; and his grandson, Miguel Wallace III; sisters, Jacqueline Wilson-Mitchell, Lorette D. Wilson and Darlene A. Wilson; brother, George L. Wilson Jr.; and ex-wife, Brenda Whitaker-Kroth.
He graduated from A.J. Dimond High School in 1976, Anchorage, where he was very active in basketball, football and track and field.
In the '70s and '80s, Reginald worked at Flying Tigers Cargo Company here in Anchorage, up until he was badly injured on the job. Flying Tigers was purchased by now Federal Express.
Reginald is greatly loved and will be sorely missed by all that knew him and loved him.
A Visitation will be held on Aug. 17, 2017, at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street in Anchorage, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
