Dick loved to ski and shared this passion with his children. The family spent many days enjoying the snow at Arctic Valley ski area, especially the Easter celebrations hosted by the Anchorage Ski Club. In recent years, Dick began carving with the Alaska Creative Woodworkers Association, winning several competitions for his carvings. Dick is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alice Bethka; his sister, Virgina Moomey of Michigan; his sons, Jon Bethka (wife Ruth) and Steve Bethka (wife Linda); his daughters, Teresa Holt (husband Kevin) and Tracy Baker (husband Dan); his grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
