Longtime Anchorage, Alaska, resident Robert "Bob" Charles Anthony, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 15, 2015, in Homer, Alaska. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 17545 North Eagle River Loop Road in Eagle River, Alaska. Fr. Paul Smith will officiate. Robert was born on June 25, 1957, to Richard David and Helyn Josephine (King) Anthony at the Beaumont Army Hospital in El Paso, Texas. Being born into a military family, and as a result of frequent relocations in Europe and the U.S.A., he made many friends and acquaintances. Robert played the trumpet in high school band and was an active participant in football. He graduated high school and had completed the Schlumberger Education Program, where he worked as a Senior Wireline Operator for Schlumberger for the last 29 years. Throughout his life he maintained a high standard of physical fitness. In his adult years, he won championships in the athletic events of the annual Scottish Highland games. He had a great love of animals, especially his bloodhounds, of which he had several. He was also an avid skier from the age of 5 and through his adult years. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, physical fitness, skiing, traveling and the Scottish Highland Games. Robert was preceded in death by his brother, William J. Anthony. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Colonel (Retired) Richard D. Anthony and the Rev. Betty Lou Anthony of Eagle River, Alaska; brother, Richard D. Anthony Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska; stepsisters, Kathryn Nasiali of Claremont, Calif., Judith Delph of Phoenix, Ariz., and Rebecca Courie of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; and many friends and neighbors within the U.S.A. and Europe.
