Robert Charles Burgess, 48, passed away and is in the guiding hands of our eternal father after an extended illness on June 18, 2017. He is survived by his son, Dalton; his brother, Ronald Jr.; his parents, Ronald Sr. and Mary; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Burgess and William and Nellie Lepp.
Robert was a loving and doting father; he held an immense amount of joy and pride for his son, Dalton. Robert's love for Dalton could be heard in every conversation you would have with him when talking about his son.
Robert grew up in Ohio prior to his service in the U.S. Air Force. He proudly served his country in Operation Desert Shield /Storm and Iraqi Freedom. In his 20-year career, he served as an Air Cargo Specialist/Rigger and was deployed all around the world. He was a true patriot in every sense of the word, right down to his red, white and blue themed Christmas tree he put up every year. Robert had a strong impact on all of those who knew him during and after his service
Robert was stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base; Dover Air Force Base; Incirlik Air Base; Elmendorf Air Force Base; and Nellis Air Force Base. Robert retired in Alaska, where his interests and hobbies included hunting, fishing and riding his four-wheeler.
There will be a private ceremony for family followed by an interment at the Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Rev. Mark Burgess will conduct the services for his nephew. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dalton's college fund at Alaska USA Federal Credit Union.
